Shirley Ruth Williams

Spartanburg, SC- Shirley Ruth Williams, 85, died Saturday, February 2, 2019 at her home. Born March 14, 1933 in Spartanburg, SC, Shirley was a daughter of the late E. W. and Rowena Gowan. She was a graduate of Dorman High School and worked as a nursing assistant. Shirley was of the Baptist faith and was an incredibly devoted wife and homemaker. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be sorely missed by her beloved family. Shirley is survived by her son, Joseph Williams and his wife, Melisa, of the home; a special granddaughter, Samantha Palmer of Boiling Springs, SC; grandson, Michael Williams; a granddaughter, Tina Kopczynski (Jon) of Virginia; and nine great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Aaron DeWitt Williams; and a son, David DeWitt Williams. A graveside memorial service will be held Friday, February 8th, 11:00AM at Fort Prince Memorial Gardens, officiated by Reverend Dr. Jim Jackson. The family will receive friends at the graveside.
